A Day in the Life

We are in our second week of the 22-23 school year and I have started to get in the routine of school again. One of my favorite sayings for routines is, "the best routine is the one you can stick to." It will not matter if you find a routine where you are only productive 2 out of the 7 days of the week. Routines you can consistently stick to will trump others that make you productive only a fraction of the week. I am excited to share my own routine for my average Tuesday.

To begin the day, I wake up around 5:45 A.M. to get ready for the basketball team's morning workout. We will get to Dial-Roberson stadium around 6:15 A.M. and then get our workout started. Around 8 A.M, we will have finished our workout and my roommate and I will head back to our dorm. After cleaning up, we will head to the Macintosh Diner to have a few breakfast omelets to start the day. My first class is principles of social media with Dr. Agozina where we learn the key uses of several social platforms. This class is from 9:30 A.M.-10:45 A.M and right after this class is when I grab lunch. My next class is intro to comparative politics from 12 P.M.-1:15 P.M. This class is intriguing as it talks about the several different style of governments and politics in the world. My academic day ends here and the rest of the day is reserved for eating, basketball, weightlifting, and studying. I will get back to my dorm sometime around 8 P.M. and on these days I might grab a late-night snack at WOW café and dinery. My go-to snack at WOW is the grilled chicken sandwich or the quesadillas. Once I get back to my dorm, I will be getting ready for the next day and then go to bed.

  1. Weirdly enough I always find it easier to manage my schedule when I have soccer going on with school. Which makes perfect sense because it kind of forces me to create a routine around when We practice, have games, etc. I guess it really is just whatever makes someone productive.

  2. Hey Max, as another student athlete I can easily relate to the rigorous load we have. I am glad you have a schedule as most people fail when they try to "wing it". I hope this works out for you and you have a successful school year. Best of luck.

  3. Hi Max. As a student who is not involved in athletics, I would think college would be a lot more stressful. But, I am glad you are figuring out your own daily routine. I am glad you are making sure you are doing everything to have a healthy lifestyle at college, such as eating enough. WOW quesadillas as a nighttime snack sounds great as someone who gets them regularly for lunch or dinner. After reading your routine, I am still curious on when you get your homework done since you draw a specific timeline between academic parts of your day and athletic parts of your day. I hope that is not getting in the way of a normal sleep schedule.
